     5 Card Draw Poker Rules

Rules of 5 Card Draw Poker

Although Texas Holdem is by far the most popular game online, 5 Card Draw is the version of poker that most people know and is usually the one used in films.

The player to the left of the dealer puts in the small blind. The player to his left then puts in the big blind. Each player is then dealt 5 cards. The object is to make your best 5-card poker hand. Proceeding clockwise from the big blind, players have the option to either call, raise or fold. Betting proceeds in the same way as Texas holdem.

Once there are no more raises, starting to the left of the dealer, players now discard as many cards as they wish. Once all players have discarded and received replacements for their discards, there is another round of betting. When all players have called all bets or folded, there is a showdown and the best five card hand wins the pot.
